Pete Devine (of Bo Grumpus, Mal Sharpe Jazz Band & Gaucho fame) has brought together some of his favorite musicians to re-create the authentic sound of 20’s and 30’s jug band music. Together for only one year, they have already played such prestigious venues as Jazz at Pearls, The Great American Music Club, The Sacramento Jazz Jubilee and even the Golden Gate Park Band Shell with their guest Dan Hicks. You’re in for some seriously fun music when band members Meredith Axelrod, on guitar, vocals & kazoo, Jimmy Sweetwater, on harmonica & vocals and Mayumi Urgino on fiddle join with Pete’s unique jug, washboard, vocals & ever popular cheek-o-phone stylings. The Pete Devine Jug Band takes old time blues, string band and traditional jug band music to new heights.
